The Nasara secretariat of the New Patriotic Party in the Wa central constituency has encouraged all Ghanaians who have turned eighteen years to cease this window of opportunity to register for their voter identity cards.

In a brief ceremony at the Wa municipal office of the electoral commission where registration is taking place, the Wa central constituency Nasara coordinator Alhaji Haki Jenjeng and a member of the secretariat Mr. Mohammed Suleman affectionately known as Kweku Baako presented ten packs of sachet water and several packs of assorted soft and energy drinks meant to be distributed amongst registrants.

Speaking to reporters during the handing over, Mr. Mohammed Suleman said it was the little contribution the secretariat could offer to assist in the process. 'During our monitoring we realized that there are no shops around here so if anyone is thirsty and needs to drink water it would be difficult to get some to buy. We therefore seek to ameliorate this burden'.

He went ahead to state that the importance of the voter registration exercise and encouraged all persons within the constituency who have never registered for a voter ID card to register for it.

However, Baako said he had noticed that some of the registrants by their physical appearance are minors but expressed optimism that they would be duly challenged.

He expressed satisfaction over the process so far stating, ' impressed with the process because since our monitoring we have not seen any major challenges hindering the process'.

The electoral commission opened a limited registration exercise for those who turned eighteen and all who haven't been captured in the voter roll to get registered. It has been opened for twenty one days ahead of the December district level elections.
